No, I'd be dead if I did that. I'm a respiratory therapist, which pays okay and will pay better once I've racked up more experience. In all seriousness I could let this thread sink until I have something relevant to add, like when the print edition releases. And I probably will.

Maybe it's just me, but sigs do not appear for me anymore.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

They show up fine for me. Check your settings?

I checked my user settings and somehow show sigs was turned off.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

Whoops, never let you know the print edition was up. And it is. It's $15.17 because it's a big story, more the length of a standard series. That should be the last thing I have to let you know about, Pyrebound-wise

I think that Apolyton was down until yesterday.
It didn't have the same feel as Witch World to me. It was amazing world building and had me very interested, despite the fact that I didn't like the main character. Your writing and dialogue was smooth and enjoyable, and your pacing was good.
The characterization of the main character had some sudden jumps, and he didn't appear to be very smart, but I am pretty sure both were intentional.
Good job!

Huh. You're the first person to dislike Ram, that I know of. A lot of people hate Darun, mind you ... anyway, a happy reader is a happy reader.

I didn't like Darun much either. We didn't see nearly as much of her though. As a very first person novel we saw a lot of Ram. I liked some of the other, verbal, blackguards.
Thanks for the story.

So, what did you dislike about Rammash? And which of the blackbands did you like? Imbri, Shazru, or Ushna?

I think some of it might have been purposeful. I am not saying he is poorly written. He is young, disconnected and either inexperienced or not very bright and there are huge complications which I don't want to spoil for others.
I definitely liked Imbri. We saw even less of Shazru and Ushna (and of Shennai and Piridur and Shimrun), so I am less sure about them. Ram takes up so much space that we don't get to know many of the other characters well. Also, probably because of his background and where he is in the story, he doesn't connect well with others. That is fine, just the story and way it is told, but it might be some of the reason why I don't like him so well.

I do think that in the future I will try for multiple points of view where practical. There were times when it would have been fun to see things from Imbri or Piridur's POV, for sure. And yes, Ram is very much inexperienced and making it up as he goes.

Multiple versus single view is a stylistic choice, I actually think in general that I prefer single view but it really depends on the tale being told.
