No military will make two huge withdrawals from their own national territory like the retreats from Kherson and the Kharkiv region while they are inflicting 10 to 1 losses on an enemy which they enjoy overwhelming firepower and combined arms superiority over regardless of any level of numbers of enemy canon fodder. Like Kherson and Kharkiv (that we have never a full control of) are the only places where the war takes place!
The width of frontline is over thousands of kilometers, but any local success of Ukrainian forces is portrayed by your media as a decisive victory. Why should I re-evaluate my beliefs, if the grand picture suits them well? It is Ukraine who had lost its territory, population, MIC and economy, despite mobilizing all she could, not Russia.

Think about the situation in Kherson. If 8 waves of mobilization gave the Ukrainians an 8 to 1 numerical advantage while being at large disadvantage in firepower they would either have swarmed the city immediately or if they tried parking outside it, the Russians would have enjoyed an opportunity to decimate the massed enemy troops using their vastly superior firepower.

We have committed a tactical withdrawal at Kherson, because it was necessary considering the local terrain and the disposition of forces on that exact piece of the front. Period.

What happened was Russia was taking heavier losses there than Ukraine and had more difficulty supplying their forces in the city so they retreated. That scenario is totally incompatible with Kherson being Russian territory let alone being Russian territory where Russia was inflicting 10 to 1 losses on the Ukrainians while enjoying a massive across the board firepower, economic and logistics advantage.

If you didn't notice, the civilian population have been evaquated from the right bank as we wll the the military forces. That was a well organized withdrawal with nearly casualties for the reasons I have mentioned above.

Stop and think hard about what the large Russian retreats mean. It is obvious you never have.

The Russian military has finally corrected the problem of untrained and poorly equiped mobilized people just being stuck on the Frontline without winter clothing or knowledge of how to survive. Even the corrupt and incompetent Russian officer corp now understands those troops just freeze to death or shortly die so now they are rotating troops on and off the front in 12 hour shifts. That is a good thing as it allows soldiers to have a break, sleep, shower, etc...

The problem is they are massing all of them into one building where they make a juicy target. Ukraine disburses it's forces into small village houses for their off rotation so that destroying one only kills a few troops. Russia is putting 800 into one giant temporary barracks making them tempting targets. This Ukraine is now busy blowing up those barracks and it keeps happening over and over. Yes, Russia's tendancy to put it's ammo stores in or next to the same buildings just makes the problem worse.

You can expect the first six barracks attacks to just be the beginning as it will continue until Russia officers learn to disburse it's forces. The problem is Russian mobilized forces have extremely low moral, they do not want to be there, they are not meaningfully trained, so without an officer forcing them to do things they will just sit there doing nothing other than maybe get drunk. That is why the officers feel they have to mass soldiers just to try to get them functioning as a military unit. That is a damned if you do, damned if you don't choice for the Russian command.
