I would call Twitter a dumpster fire, but I feel like that would be too derogatory to honest garbage that managed combustion.I wasn't born with enough middle fingers.

It has the quality of a lake filled with crap here.
sometimes there are news coming out that don't see the light in the "media" (infotainment to divert attention when they rob you blind) but is very rare.

Elon has officially called off his (always-suspect) Twitter purchase, per a BBC article just posted:
Elon Musk says he is ending $44bn (£36.2bn) bid to buy Twitter, alleging multiple breaches of merger agreement.
Today's announcement brings to an end a long-running saga after the world's richest person decided to buy Twitter in April.
Mr Musk has decided not to go ahead with the deal because Twitter failed to provide sufficient information on the number of spam and fake accounts.
He faces a $1bn (£830m) break-up fee and possible lawsuit by opting out.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

After few flipflops Musk finally bought it.
he spoke of buying Twitter because he wanted to "try to help humanity", and said he wanted "civilisation to have a digital town square". He also accepted that his mission may fail.

Musk seems to have a touch with making money. I imagine Twitter 2024 will look little like Twitter 2022.
It will be interesting to watch what he does actually do.
Real question is...how much does his diverted time take away from SpaceX and Tesla?"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. Say something on CNBC this morning that is of interest. I just caught the tail end of it, but it seemed to be talking about using Twitter as a Bitcoin payment platform. Maybe Musk is going to change the name to TwitPal."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. Which sounds not too bad, question is how it will turn out in reality.

I am not sure as I don't use bitcoin. It really seems like a pump and dump ponzi scheme to me. I suppose a new payment service could find a niche there but I wonder why it is needed. I kind of agree with Peter Zeihan that there is no solid case for putting money into crypto unless you want to do money laundering and even then it isn't a good medium for that.
Add on that the U.S. Treasury doesn't seem to like it and has pretty strict tax and disclosure rules about it and, well, what's the point? Hell, even the Russia hackers who used bitcoin for ransom ware attacks had the crypto taken back so it doesn't even seem secure for criminals who were the biggest supporters of it.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

I have an account, I respond to tweets but haven't figured out how to start my own threads... mostly because I dont care enough, but I might get around to it.
Musk will censor people, he's in bed with the CIA and DoD. The FBI was telling Zuckerburg to censor news stories about the Bidens before the election, I dont think he'll be biting the hand feeding him billions. I dont know if it should be illegal to own media if you're a government contractor but if you are the state shouldn't be telling you to censor political opponents in the name of protecting democracy.
