  • Are you using twitter?

    Elon bought it.

However, I read that in the US, many ordinary folks are indeed using it. While for example in Germany it's more something for ppl in the media already,(polit-folks, journalists, celebrities and "celebrities").

I'm not using it. Take that Elon.

    How 'bout ya?

I have an account so I can see stuff, but have never posted (except for clients, who pay me for that service). Why would I start now?

I don't have an account there,
but I read things posted there and also often link tweets in Fora like this one
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

I have an account, but it's not a personal one. I use it in conjunction with another site that I provide content for.

Got one...don't use it except to read stuff that I was redirected to. Saw in one of Elon's threads where someone said "Disinformation isn't free speech!" like he was protesting. I guess people need to relearn what free speech is...

Not to say that disinformation is good...just that it is the price we pay to avoid censoring free thinking. People need to understand that freedom isn't free. It requires you to think and it requires you to give a voice to people you disagree with.
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Private enterprise has no obligation to provide “free” speech to anyone.

Agreed, but that was not my contention. Although I can see how it could be read that way...

I think I might have an account. At least, if they don't purge them for lack of use I do.

No social media company purges its members unless they have to. It's all about user count, delivering eyeballs, etc.

I took a closer look at the Twitter deal. There is no way Twitter can generate enough income to make the payments on the debt the deal is putting on them.
