This was always a pretty lax place moderator-wise (although I do have to say that the only ban I've had, was for thread necroing), so it's kind of ridiculous to suddenly expect strict moderation now

I guess I just don't find drunk people "fun".

In the past, I followed the rules established by the owners.
Now I'm the owner and the rules are more relaxed.
And I don't see the point of strict moderation... this isn't a police state.
It's not like this site is a buzz with new activity and new content. It's just hanging on as a place for old friends to get together and have fun.

I didn't mean to start a big thing. Of course it's your site and you can do with it as you wish.

I don't find it "fun" when a poster shows up with the sole intent to be disruptive. Unless you are also drunk (or you are 5 years old) it isn't fun. If someone showed up at my home like that and proceeded to rearrange all my belongings I would probably ask them to leave. If someone showed up at my business like that I would definitely ask them to leave.

Your solution to go hunting for and bumping threads afterward is akin to telling me I should just put my stuff back where it belongs after he leaves.

I never raised the issue of a ban but BU has it right - A night in the drunk tank is the most appropriate response.

Again... you are welcome to your opinion.
If I banned everybody because of a user complaint, nobody would be left, not even me.
And yeah, I don't see having to go to page two to find something a hardship.

Now... if somebody was doing that every day, I would have a problem with it. But a one night drunk fest isn't going to break the site or do any harm except make people click one extra time to find what they are looking for. And then it solves itself in no time.
And again, some people found it amusing and most ignored it. I just don't see the harm...

[shrugs] There was a couple/three hours that I saw plenty of people browsing, but nobody posting to block the tuber. There's things Dad could do about it, but there's things the membership can do, too...

A simple piece of advice... then don't worry about it.

In MWHC's mind everybody should be getting stupid drunk, spamming threads, necro threads 10 years old, and posting nonsense spam every day. The wild wild west. What's the problem?
oh please. it's only that i like you that i will leave this as it is.
