Perhaps you'll be somewhat comforted to know that the survey that estimated up to a million casualties in iraq had enormous methodological errors. There is no reason to believe casualties were so high.
If course the Iraq war was totally unnecessary as is the Ukraine special military operation. In that sense any casualties at all were inexcusable.
Someone with a Z may well deserve a rude reception but I hope you're willing to give Russians in general the benefit of the doubt. Russians who oppose this kind of thing are far more likely to have left Russia and be found abroad at this point. Maybe even in Greece.
