  • Hey world, great news !!!

Today, in its infinite wisdom, the Belgian government has decided to close down all our nuclear power plants by 2025 and replace then with natural gas... erm renewable energy.
This is thanks to our green party who beyond all democratic odds (10 pct of the votes) broke into the government and pushed through its dogmatic... erm fully scientifically supported point of view.

So from now on, Belgium will support the global fight on climate change by emitting an additional 15 Mt of CO2 every year.

**** the stupid greens. They're responsible for something similar here in Germany, and we still have ~25% coal. FFS those are actually responsible for real deaths.

I loved visiting Brussels. Living in Brussels wasn't quite as amazing, but I think this was partially due to having very little money.

I moved to Brussels almost 119 months ago.

8 nuclear plants in a territory the size of the peloponese...

anyway think of it positive dannubis. 8 nuclear plants that now the islamic terrorists (of which your country is full of UNFORTUNATELY) will not have a chance to sabotage

This is all you can come up with ? The fact that we are the size of the peloponese with 11 million inhabitants should tell you something on the achievability of the 100 pct natural gas erm... renewables plan.

What is happening to the exquisitely located Chooz Nuclear Power Plant?

well that renders my point mute.

anyway that was known for at least 3 years (belgium de-nuclearize) so I gues dannubis either isn't very keen on catching up to the latest news or his reaction time make sloths look like flash

LOL. Maybe you should just stick to reading the propaganda of the green party in stead of telling me what is happening in one of the most important cases for Belgium in the last 20 years.

I think a nuclear reactor would be harder for terrorists to access than a bus or a train, but I don't know

Our greek friend is referring to an alleged sabotage case to the steam turbine at one of our nuclear plants a few years ago. It was however never shown that this was an "OMG EVIL MUSLIM TERR'IST" attack or a sabotage by disgruntled union people (there was a social conflict going at that time).

Maybe this is a good thing since Belgium will be one of the first countries to go under as the sea levels rise.

The Netherlands is building a new one and is keeping the old one open until 2050.

The future of energy is hydrogen. that's all. RES pruducing hydrogen.

Natural gas will be phased out it's just being used for security of supply for the time being.

electric cars are a joke too.

and nuclear power will be done only in regimes.
