The Afghan army is truly an impressive institution. I'm sure they'll have no trouble holding off the Taliban by using their superior numbers, firepower, and training.

There are 4.6 million people in Kabul. It seems like not even 20k people are willing to die to keep Afghanistan free even just Kabul free.

At some point if you are not willing to die or fight for your freedom than you won’t have it.

I think Biden did the right thing by withdrawing.

It seems senseless to send American troops to defend the Afghanistan government when, for whatever reason, the Afghan army would not defend the Afghanistan government.

Goodness the USAF managed to cram 640 folks into a C-17 (which is as I understand pretty overcapacity) the German Luftwaffe's first A400M flight circled for some 5 hrs over the airport because of rights/stuff/whatever, then unloaded paratroopers for security and flew back with a whopping 7 persons evacuated, because of complete chaos at the airport.

FWIW, the next flight actually brought standard loads of over 100...

That probably describes how the training of the Aghan forces went in the last couple yrs, lots of money spent for zilch effect.
