Biden's taking a risk, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's just trying to push for concessions to get them closer to a peace deal but if the Taliban starts attacking us again we'll be right back to square one... some people would like us to stay and its bipartisan.Comment

Kinda split on the whole thing myself. Nothing seems to be really going fwd there, so leaving after yrs sounds like the right choice.
But yeah, the consequences could be bad if the sane folks there get overrun by Taliban again.
Maybe Vlad will show up to "pacify" his southern flank then

I think it is good for us to leave. The alternative is to remain in Afghanistan for many years at a cot of billions of dollars and the the lives of fine young men in a futile attempt to stop the Taliban taking over.
That is not worth Australian lives so I am exceedingly pleased that we are leaving.
