Solver doesn't say much. There was a problem with attachments that turned up Monday -which seems fixed now- and there's a mystery problem -Tuesday was Solver working on it all day- with the folder tree structure on the server. Stuff that ought to be so simple I could do it breaks everything.
This is the oldest live Civ site on the net, like the mostly-true blurb above says, maybe oldest gaming site. And the database, as a consequence, is huge now. And MarkG was quite prone to kludging up mods of the forums software. And it's changed management several times over, of various levels of tech competence. And vBulletin has gone through a lot of versions since 1998.
So vB doesn't get much call for handling a site that old w/ a database that large and disorganized. The place looks great, largely thanks to me, but is a creaking, glitchy mess that we fear will break completely the next time I move a thread.
SO - I suspect Solver is taking a couple days to actually do his job and have his life; he'd been at it since Saturday. I imagine he'll be back at it tomorrow or Saturday - the archive project matters a lot to him, and he feels obligated to keep the forum running in halfway reasonable condition...

I'm having trouble choosing between these two logo layouts.
They're roughly the same height, and the former is as seen on yesterday's screeny above. I find the latter more aesthetically pleasing, but the former has more of the classic Poly look included and is that much more legible. There's plenty of horizontal space along the top, it kinda centers and emphasizes "archives" and I'm leaning towards leaving well enough alone.
Any feedback?

I've got this weird bug going in CivII where the other factions have no names on their cities and the game starts crashing when I found a city when I'm near the end of the name list. Both are pretty irritating.
Anybody heard of that one? I'm running Multiplayer Gold Edition.

Almost sounds like a problem with city.txt

And here I'd given up on help in OTf.
Hey, I think you're onto something. All the city name lists after the Romans -and I haven't had any of these games start with them since this began- start with "@BABYLONIANS". I suppose I need a clean copy of city.text, instead of trying to correct all those faction names in that finicky format...
