This isn't corruption. Corruption is when you expect bribes for political access or take money to give special political treatment, or are being blackmailed.

Apparently Biden's being accused of having had a side gig.
Of course, 45 would never put himself in that position.

OK ... it is OK because of Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Ford (maybe), Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama, VP's Agnew etc, etc, Secretary of State Kissinger, etc, etc, etc, etc. Colleges receive more donations if they list prominent people, including politicians, as professors, lecturers, speakers, etc. This isn't peculiar to the USA. If I recall correctly, former Canadian PM Brian Mulroney gave a total of one commencement address at a prestigious University, had his name on their letterhead as Honourary Patron, and received a half million dollars... and that was 20 years ago.

Trump invented a University with no teaching of any kind, no campus, no exams, just cash for an MBA. Trump established a charity for 9/11 first responders, and kept the money he collected.

So, Berzerker, why do you support this POS? You don't need to answer. I honestly don't care.

The difference is HUGE and easy to see. This is Biden's private life.

Trump mixes his official office as President with his private investments.

Another example, holding campaign events inside the White House is a gross violation of the Hatch Act

Trump U preceded his stay in the WH... and Biden is getting all this money after serving in government for decades, I'm sure Joe had plenty of time to earn Penn's love with gifts from the treasury. Besides, Joe was the apparent front runner for the WH in 2020 back when he was getting all that money. So is it bribery for the future or pay offs for the past...or both?

Maybe it should be illegal for politicians to ever get anything of value from special interests being enriched by Congress.

I'm smart enough to know Biden is crooked and compromised by China

I wasn't smart enough to figure out the Dems were lying about Trump and Russia for a couple years

You have a lot of damn gall comparing UPenn, an eminent, elite education institution; with Trump "U", a fake school with zero accreditation that was sued to an early death for the worthless con job it so obviously was.

BTW, Condoleeza Rice would be happy to speak to your organization for a mere $150,000. Or perhaps you'd prefer Sarah Palin -- her price has dropped dramatically the past few years.

I wasn't comparing Trump U with Penn, I was pointing out that Trump U happened before he became Prez because Ted made a distinction between Biden's private and public life.

The fact that it's a nonprofit university that's doing it and not a corporation or businessman probably makes this less concerning to most people. It's not the same as Goldman Sachs paying Hillary Clinton over 200 thousand dollars for a speech.

Can you explain to me which laws Biden broke? I already listed the Hatch Act for Trump but I could go down the list.

              Also regarding Trump U:

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Friday agreed to settle three fraud lawsuits linked to Trump University for $25 million, FoxNews.com confirmed.
              https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tru...for-25-million

Regarding Biden's outsized salary, I've explained on this forum multiple times that Biden is an establishment center RIGHT corporate Democrat, a Republican from 20 years ago, so it's not surprising he's taking advantage of the system.

Some of that baggage comes with choosing a corporate Democrat, but when you compare it to what Trump has done, it's on a whole different level. You choose Trump and you're choosing an authoritarian on par with Erdogan who seeks to demote the Constitution and overthrow Democracy itself.

I do agree with your spirit though on the privilege and inequality of wealth. Sounds socialist??

If this were true, it would be illegal. But you'd need a lot more than an 'I'm sure' statement in order to convict.

Are you sure it would be illegal? I mean, politicians are always giving our money to special interests who return the favor by funneling our money back into the politician's coffers.

It's immoral for people to receive large sums of money they didn't earn.
