And if the populatiton gets dumber, it tends to vote more right wing ... something Trump and the GOP hope for.
    It is a vicious circle

On a more serious note, my fear is the US will be unable to recruit immigrants at this point after showing how unstable we are

This in turn leads to less economic innovation and the population just gets even dumber

    Let’s hope I’m wrong

I read it somewhere else, can't find the explanation now, but it seems they were using parts of the hiv genome in the vaccine, and that's what triggered the false positive (on one particular hiv test)

Since there's already several other vaccines ready, and in order to avoid 'hurr durr vaccines give you hiv' shenanigans, they decided to stop the effort.

2020 had the nerve to be longer than the average year too. Damn leap year nonsense.

    Bah, xmas lockdowns everywhere

On the plus side no visits from (or to) relatives you can't stand.

But also not from/to those you like

2020 needs to be replaced by 2021 soon.

    Rudolph the brown nosed attorney

    All of the other attorneys
Used to laugh and call him names
    They never let poor Rudolph
    Join in any attorney games
    Then one foggy Christmas Eve
    Donny came to say
"Rudolph, with your nose so brown
Won't you guide my claims tonight?"
Then how the Republicans loved him
As they shouted out with glee
    "Rudolph the Brown-Nosed Attorney
    You'll go down in history"

But the ones that aren't had to be lucky to win a lottery to get that kind of treatment, Rudi didn't.

Ben Carson, Chris Christie and Donald J. Trump are not the sturdiest candidates to conquer the coronavirus: older, in some cases overweight, male and not particularly fit. Yet all seem to have gotten through Covid-19, and all have gotten an antibody treatment in such short supply that some hospitals and states are doling it out by lottery.

Now Rudolph W. Giuliani, the latest member of President Trump’s inner circle to contract Covid-19, has acknowledged that he received at least two of the same drugs the president received. He even conceded that his “celebrity” status had given him access to care that others did not have.

To bad that most dying Americans didn't get the same treatment.
