It is, for example, illegal to disturb religious services or funerals ... but burning "holy books", no matter whether it is the Quran, the bible, or whatever ...
and no matter whether private or in public ... isn't considered illegal (unless violating fire protection regulations, of course).
Books in german law are seen as simple objects ... you own it, you can do with it whatever you want
(except for copying it and selling the copies, which would be a copyright infringement, of course)

Well they aren't just burning their own books. It's an expression of hate. It's actually a threat in this case because they are destroying all of Western Civilization. They are going to burn all the Bibles if they can.

I disagree with Terry Jones of course. This was after 9-11. Idk if they still do that, but it's stupid and wrong. That just recruits terrorists. And I suspect that burning Bibles is going to piss some people off too. That's what they want. They want someone to kill a bunch of people so everyone will feel sorry for them.
