I've pretty much finalised my second divorce, and am in a satisfying love affair with a new girlfriend who lives nearly 300 km away, giving me some much needed breathing space.

My children are in varying stages of work, school, and emotional development. My youngest aced year 1 in 2019, dux. The middle two daughters are being teenagers, bringing me all the joy that comes with that, and my eldest is saving for a house deposit.

    My ageing mother is... Challenging.

I'm working as a sewage treatment plant operator, which I find moderately engaging and financially rewarding, due to the shift loadings. The latter is just as well (see first sentence).

At least it works, unlike the downloads section. Oh well, that's what the Wayback Machine is for.

Yeah. That was basically the last nail in the coffin when the file upload became borked.

If you are an EU national and want to stay in the UK then just apply for landed status. The government already said they would grandfather people in as long as the file.

I am a UK passport holder. I am having my EU citizenship revoked against my will. I can no longer work in Europe.

Given I have been working in France enough to be tax resident in France (commuting to Paris, living in Kent), that kind of sucks.

Given my employer was UK based their ability to provide services to France has been diminished. Moving to France was not an option on a personal level, and the cost of doing so is prohibitive even I felt so inclined.

I filed for Permanent Residence in Canada instead.
