    Who is "Bub"?

What we know is what the math says and what experimental results show, and I don't think from that you can conclude that stuff doesn't exist when not observed.

But this is what you and KH get for leaving the forum. It's left to a guy who took undegrad quantum mechanics and a philosophy of quantum physics course (from this guy) to explain this stuff.
He's the "this guy" in Lori's link.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

But to answer your question, the material in that course was arcane enough that no one dared make a "bub" pun for fear of distracting him.

By arcane I assume the course involved magic

            It combined "quantum" and "philosophy".

            Of course it involved magic.

UMD has both a strong quantum program and a very math/science-oriented philosophy department, so it was a pretty on the level course. A lot of discussion about precisely how weird quantum mechanics is (41%), and what it might look like if it were more or less weird.

Ok, so there are a bunch of old posters trying to relive glory days. Gotcha.

Enjoying the company of old friends isn’t really a bad thing nor is it reliving any glory days.

Reliving glory days requires having them in the first place.
