    I think I do now (it's ridiculous imo)

    Dry offered a plausible explanation.
    It seems americans want their "freedom to bear guns" even if it means that they have 249 mass shootings in a year when the second country has 6 the third one etc.

                  Banning guns is not the answer. If people are hell bent on killing they will find another way of doing it.
