In a statement to The Advocate, Johansson says that her intent has been misrepresented and her quotes pulled for "clickbait."

Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson dropped out of playing a trans man in the film Rub & Tug last summer after the announcement of her casting was met with outcry from the trans community and allies. Now, in an interview with As If magazine, and ignoring the outcry from transgender actresses, she’s doubled down on her assertion that because she’s an artist she should be allowed to play any part she likes.

    [...]
"I'm approved for all roles by default
    False.

"should trans acts? can they be a tight pantied super hero, also?
    'This is more important.

As an actor, she should be allowed to play any part she can get casted for. As an audience, we are allowed to not watch anything we find uninteresting.

between the various spectraumas(siclural) of demographic identification,
where does sameness come into the mix?
        "we can reproduce
"we are of the same species
"and are sexually attracted(complex word magnet) to sameness
        "for reproductive purposes

self identified 'male' humans cannot reproduce without extraordinary means
        and are not the 'homo

The whole job of actors is to act. Yes, any actor should be able to play any role. We routinely have black or other minorities play white roles so why not? After all their job is to f'ing act so let them act, you nitwits.

The most important civil rights issue of the day is making sure a few high paying hollywood jobs go to minorities of course

I think Scarlett Johannsson should play the first black James Bond...

If you ask actors how they inhabit a role convincingly, they'll often talk about calling on their own experiences to empathize with the character. Seems very plausible to me that, all else being equal, actors who share much in common with the character they're taking on (skin color, lifestyle, religion, etc.) are more likely to be able to do that successfully than actors who don't. So if we want to see actors acting well, seems a good idea to encourage producers to seek out those underrepresented actors when casting roles for underrepresented characters.

maybe I'm wrong on this but I recently saw something about a black woman becoming the next James Bond

                              I mean, Jane Bond
