I'm guessing that depending on where in the North are you go, it would be cleaner or more polluted. I wouldn't swim just where the Rotterdam port connects to the North sea, for example

I thought about making fun of you but I think maybe you have some special needs and I should be more careful when responding to you.

Big ports, such as Piraeus which is the largest in Europe, is polluted but the other beaches are not.

You can not base your assumption on what happens in a large commercial port and ignore the around 1 million Greek beaches which are reknowned for being absolutely goergoeus and clean.

BTW I didn't swim because noone was. Probably too cold. Belgium has some beautiful cities and is a great country but its beaches comapred to the ones that are here are very very depressing.

The majority of beaches around Athens are unsafe to swim at due to high levels of sewage contimination. Not exactly “the cleanest in the world” as you claimed Paiktis.
