Tho to be "fair" the latter still bear a lot of responsibility for the pre-war alliance system, and the failure to actually stop the war early when it became a stalemate that killed ppl en masse for years without much gain until things started moving again 1918. In WWII a peace without victory over the axis was unthinkable due to its totalitarian nature, but 1914 and beyond the actual differences could have been resolved with a serious approach and enough political will me thinks.
Also the German staff guys had spikier helmets than the gruntsBlah
