  • Fair Trade

    In general terms:

Is it fair? Does it make economic sense or is that secondary/not the point?

Is it more of a marketing thing, to get those customers who care about being "fair"? Does it help those which are supposed to get helped by fair trade?

Is it a good idea to put the burden for responsible action (if that 's what it is) on the goodwill of individual customers?

I don't know but "coffee from guatemala" makes you look sensitive and might very well land you some ass

Ppl should use that as a pick up line:

"Hey, I buy coffee from guatemala"

Every product should have a "slave inputs" rating on the label so customers could choose the relative level of slavery they are comfortable with being a part of.

It's interesting though all these "apease your consciousness" efforts. In order to have lasting effect there should be governmental action. Embargos
