      • He won with 3 million less votes overall and extremely small margins in some states (Michigan, etc).

You keep presenting it as a Reagan (or even Obama) blowout. It wasn't.

        • Honestly, we need the notion of government without mandate. So does Europe (which should have it) BTW, you could argue that the separatists in Spain were re-elected to govern but without a mandate...

A victory is a victory, and 2018 is going to be incredible with the economy booming and lots of D's defending seats.

              • Especially what usually happens to a sitting president's party for the midterm election.
But then facts and history doesn't seem to have any impact on Trump's sheeple.

                • I am sure that even Roy Moores own party meanwhile sees him more and more of an embarrassment

Not only that he doesn't concede ... now, that the republican ecretary of state of Alabama wants to declare Jones to be the winner nevertheless, Moore has filed a lawsuit as an attempt to stop him from doing so, claiming voting fraud.

It is a well established trend in modern history and there is no correlation with the economy. https://www.npr.org/2014/10/30/36013...term-elections
The 2 recent exceptions: 1998 (economy good) and 2002 (economy bad) show no correlation.

                            FACT ALERT!

                        • Roy Moore passed a lie detector.

Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore said a lie detector test taken days after the Dec. 12 special election proves allegations of sexual misconduct against him are false.

Interesting that he only took the test AFTER the election. When doing it (successfully) prior would have almost certainly swung the vote.

After a year of hearing Trumpers telling me to "get over it," I have a similar suggestion for Roy Moore.

Dude, you signed the yearbook... He sure aint goin down without a fight... The courts dont recognize lie detector tests because they're unreliable - some liars can pass them because they're so used to lying their bodies dont trigger the machine. I'd bet Trump could pass a test. I remember a funny scene from Barney Miller, Sgt Dietrich (the nerdy cool guy with the glasses) took and passed a test while claiming he was born on another planet. Given differences in people some liars can appear truthful and some truth tellers can look guilty. I think, I'd be interested to know which group has the most false positives.

Anyway, lie detector tests are a tool. They can help but I wouldn't depend on them. I assume they're better than 50/50 or even the CIA wouldn't use them, but what happens when the women pass their tests? I gotta hand it to him, that took some balls. But at this point he aint got much to lose, redemption from a machine or the disgrace he's already experiencing. I thought one of his victims offered to take a test, maybe I'm wrong on that.

                          • So far it's just an affidavit submitted by his campaign with just his signature on it.
While it may be legit, i would be more interested in what the person that did the test said and what questions were asked.
He was previously on record saying he knew some of the women, and now he says the test says the opposite. He was either lying then or lying now.

So I still am suspicious. If this is all they produce, my doubt is not cleared up. I'll wait for something more substantial than a document with just his signature attesting to it.
