That would be sadly ironic, people fleeing Miami could be up near the redneck riviera when the eye makes landfall there

Last I heard from Che, he was in Ft. Laud working as a web code monkey. But that was several years back.

      Be safe, AAHZ.

Moses parted the Red Sea - or God did with a mighty wind... Irma just parted Tampa Bay. Apparently all that wind blowing west off Florida is driving the water away from the coastline. One news blurb offered a graph showing a 5 ft drop in sea level near Tampa Bay.

Supposedly much of Key West is under water. Hopefully everyone followed advice and evacuated.

Don't count on it. During the tsunami, it was animals going for high ground, while stupid humans gathered fish on the receded beach.

Looks like the damage was not as bad as it could have been. No power, but loss of life appears to be much lower than first feared.

I think that was the leading edge of the storm rotating counter clock wise which pushed the water out. On the back end the opposite will occur. But what the heck do I know.

Either you prefer your clocks going another way around than the rest of the world or you are consuming something you shouldn't - hurricanes on the northern hemisphere do not go counter clock wise no matter which part you look at
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Irma has swelled into a monster force with maximum sustained winds near 185 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm is considered the most...

We're in for nasty weather tonight here in America, and attacking the problem by sleeping indoors as usual. One of the cats is holed up outside, and there could be trees and power, but probably not.

yup, Florida's east coast was getting the surge and west coast saw a lower sea level

I think we got lucky, that was a very large cat 5 and skirting Cuba and Florida weakened it before the eye could hit land
