Obama had set a goal to double that regardless of quality.

I prefer to go by one of Ronald Reagan's favorite maxims: Trust but Verify. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trust,_but_verify
As for refugees going back to their home countries for a vacation.....
Bryan Mills told the French he was going on vacation when he went there too. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

Not in he same way s Trump is the Messiah of the right.
Obama never demanded to accept th words out of his mouth as sole truth and, even more important, didn't try to vilify media which criticised himTamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."

Sure, dividing real refugees from those who come here for the money is always a problem.
Actually an even bigger problem is, to deport people whose refugee status has been revoked (for example because they have been labeled as economic refugees)
If they lost their papers of their country of origin (or intentionally threw them away) those countries of origin often refuse to issue replacement papers (or delay it for months or even years), so the refugees cannot be deported back home (as even rejected refugees are subject to the rules of law, they cannot just be thrown out over their home countries (if they cannot enter them, due to lacking papers).
But there is a big difference between the USA and germany (and other EU countries). The vetting of refugees who want to come into the USA is extreme and may take month or years. And only a small percentage of those who apply for refugee status in he USA are actually taken. I guess the vetting also includes checking the motives for coming to the USA (i.e. the probability for them being economic refugees, instead of really being persecuted (or in danger because of war) in their country of origin)
In contrast to this, it is far easier to get into germany (for one, germany (and the EU)) is much closer to the countries of origin of most refugees (whereas the refugees have to cross the atlantic to get to the USA), for the other, the vetting is much less extreme (for a short period of time (at the beginning of the ISIS crisis) there actually was no vetting in place at all), so it is also easier to get into germany (or EU countries) if yu are an economic refugee (actually it is a dilemma ... many refugees came/come across the mediterranean sea, so it is often a question of whether one lets them drown in their often not seaworth boats, or if on rescues them at sea, when their overloaded boats are going down)
So, complaining about 25k (and less) refugees per quartal (who only get into the country after extreme vetting) sounds like a luxury problem to me
The utter incompetence of the EU makes the EU its own worst enemy.Last edited by Dinner; June 29, 2017, 16:10.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Also, I completely disagree that the US has sufficient vetting of asylum claims. The MAJORITY of the time they cannot even independently verify basic things like name, date of birth, and place of birth. Lacking such basic verifiable information should be an automatic disqualifier.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

While that would be nice, what do you do for those who's villages were totally destroy along with all their records? They may be the most needy ones. IT's not always possible. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

What does that have to do with the refugees coming to America?
And if you were in a war torn country and didn't want to fight, wouldn't you be a refugee too, especially if you were a fighting age man?

Looking at their connections and contacts, which the US does do, is the most important vetting.
