When doing "normal" stuff my PC is silent too, but high performance (like, hehe, games or some Win services/tasks) produces more noise. Then there is also the gfx card's fans going on plus the CPU fan turning way higher.

That's the beauty of getting older, you stop hearing well at that frequency so it's not annoying at all. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

water cooling is for enthousiasts (cutting edge CPUs/ extreme overcloking etc...)
you can get fans that are very silent even on full throttle for average/regular CPUs
About graphics cards, it pays to do a research before you buy becuase different companies put out the same GPU power with completely different cooling solutions, some completely silent, others not so much
also newer CPUs give the smae power with far less energy consumption = less heating - less need for cooling = more silent
instead of investing on a water cooling system it might be more cheap to just upgrade your CPU (and fan)Last edited by Bereta_Eder; May 9, 2017, 13:49.

The Macbook handles Civ4 and roguelikes fine... as well as youtube/internet/keynote/etc.
It doesn't even have a fan to turn on.
