But also the fact that Trump is rather eager with attributing things, that were still an effect of the Obama administration, to himself.
For example the (positive) job statistics in January, or the job inveestment by exxon mobil (the decision for which was made years before Trump came into power)

At the moment I only have seen lots of promises by Trump ... but no positive results in economy or american society that actually can be attributed to Trumps gvernment
Any president would have taken credit for that. You actually think democrats wouldn't?

BTW, this has been the slowest and worst recovery in US History unless you count the double dip during the Depression. Obama can have all the credit he deserves. It was an absolute disaster.

This is totally true, because obviously the last thing any Democrat would want would be to live in a great country.

Oh they want to live here. They just want to turn it into a ****hole like Iran or North Korea.

Do you ever read back the things you write, and actually think about them? Like this for instance, do you actually think that Democrats in America actually want to live in oppressive dictatorships? When they wake up in the morning and wake their kids up, do you actually believe they're wishing they lived in North Korea? Does that seem genuinely plausible to you?

That's hard to tell ... AFAIK the last 2 times that Democrats took over from Republicans (i.e. Clinton from Bush sr. (it's the economy ... stupid) and Obama from Bush jr. ) the economy was in a rather bad shape after 4 (+ 8) (Bush sr. ) or 8 (Bush jr. ) years of republican rule. So, neither Clinton nor Obama had any chance to claim any positive developments caused by their predecessors rule as their own.

And the last tiime before that when a Democrat took over from a republican, was actually 4 years after my birth ... with other words, a really really long time ago and I don't know if at this occasion, Gerald Ford left any positive developments that Jimmy Carter could claim as his own

Yes, because they can stop people from saying things that they don't like.

How? People in North Korea can't stop people from saying what they like, unless you're the one man in the top role you have to obey exactly what he decides.

                      1) Economics is not a hard science so we aren't talking about facts.

                      2) People don't understand economics, and ALL politicians take advantage of ignorance.

I'm fairly sure you don't know what a liberal is.

The irony is that you claim to be a conservative.

Not anymore, I was a moderate economic conservative with pretty strong socially liberal views. Now I see nothing left in the conservative movements of either the UK or US that I feel even the slightest shred of attraction to. Their economics have become radical, their social policies have become even more radical, and as I've never been a member of the hard right there is really nothing there for me now. Perhaps if they ever move back towards the centre I'll take another look, but for now they're dead to me.

It did amuse me greatly though that the likes of you and Ben never understood quite how different the term 'conservative' is in Europe (or was at least) to the US.

Now it's Far-Right or Far-Left with nothing in between. I'll stick to the far Left-Center-right-up-down-out-through-between.
I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
