It really could be a more important issue to many Republicans. Russia looks to be the biggest divide on that side.

It doesn't need to change many minds. It needed to change the minds of about 0.4% of people in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan. A bad news article from an illegal hack of his records could easily have swung the needle that much. The bad news stories about Clinton swung it more than that the other way and she wasn't exactly high in the likeability and approval ratings.

Fairness is a hilarious concept in intl politcs:

Sure - US installed many international governments, and Russians are installing an American president, don't you dare calling it bad.

On the other hand, first Russian installed German PM is coming on board soon. Can't wait to see who will it be, but I feel it is a bit unfair on the Germans, as they did not spend last 50 years replacing foreign governments at will. However, as you say, the concept of fair does not make sense, might is right, so Germans can just as well get on with the the program.

The issue that it was Russia and that they may have been attempting to influence our elections (Like we don't do the same? GSO anybody?) is a different issue and should be dealt with. But to say that FACTS about a candidate coming out makes the other candidate invalid is nothing short of ludicrous...regardless the source.
