    Not really IMHO

Have seen it now as well. I definitely like it

Don't expect every Main character to survive it (not exactly negative IMHO and a Plus for something not totally embedded into the Star Wars series)

    Spoiler:
More exactly, expect noone to survive
    Jyn
At least we now can put the fan theory to rest that Jyn is Reys mother or grandmother ... although it could have fit, considering that the faces of Jyn and her mother look similar to Reys

(This nspoilertag actually contains spoilers ... don't say you weren't warned )

I also liked the appearance of so many past characters ... including Tarkin (Peter Cushing raised from the dead by digital magic), Mom Mothma, Vader, Bail Organa ... and even the Walrus Man and his Friend, from the Tatooine Cantina in SW4, make an appearance

It also plays on much more planets/locations than the other movies

You will definitely see the mission to recover the death star plans with new eyes, after seeing the movie.
However, it was irritating that no Bothans got killed over the course of this movie
    Spoiler:
There were Alien Infantry Soldiers which got killed, but they looked more like Noghri, than like Bothans

(Not a big sypoiler this one)
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

Is Trump going to make a star wars movie?

Darth Trump is already scheduled to run the Galactic Empire. We can only survive if our teddy bears help us destroying his death star.

I think I liked Rogue One better than Ep7 because there doesn't seem to be as much plot silliness thinking back on it afterward. I enjoyed ep7 more while I was watching it, but Rogue One better afterward, if that makes sense.

The music was surprisingly...meh. It was okay. I can't even remember any of the tunes, which is unusual for a star wars movie.

There was one particular plot beat I didn't like.
            Spoiler:

The part where they violate orders to get the plans was silly. It didn't serve the plot at all. The authority conflict was resolved in like two minutes. Plus it makes the whole rebellion seem like a bunch of insubordinate, undisciplined amateurs.

            Still, glad I saw it.

Man, that was excellent. But I really wish they hadn't...

              Spoiler:
              ...CGed in Tarkin and Leia.

I really hope you're trolling at this point. Bothans were mentioned in ROTJ in regards to Death Star 2, not ANH.

I looked up Bothans and came across this:

I think refers to ROTJ? What do I know...

I am more concerned about the subtle Islamist propaganda in including a character named A(c)kbar.

Yup. The information the Bothans retrieved (among other things) was that the Emperor would be personally overseeing the completion of Death Star 2. But that was in fact a trap to draw out the rebellion, leading to Luke and Vader's fight in front of the Emperor at the end of Jedi.

IIRC the death star (in ROTJ) was able to shoot rebel ships, but overall far from being completed - lotsa parts were still lacking. Ppl should have been able to tell just by looking at the giant holes in the structure. Silly Rebels, should have known better.

Well R1 shows us that the rebels weren't all that well organized and were pretty terrible at communicating with each other.

They were ready to give up under the threat of the Death Star. It wasn't until after A New Hope that the rebels really began to believe that they could win.

I thought they were very realistic and thought it was a nice touch.
