Yes, they are, but it is my understanding that they are mostly dog food.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

      I reckon you are correct.

However, kangaroo meat is slowly (very slowly) becoming more popular.

Much can be done with kangaroo meat for human consumption.

The government just told some of their top advisors their services were no longer required because they're not British..

I am in Toronto next week to discuss a job opportunity there.

We can't realistically travel until March due to family reasons - my wife is pregnant. She got a letter from the local NHS trust this week saying that "as a visitor" to the UK she will be billed for maternity care, including costs for delivering the baby. She's not "a visitor", as she pays an explicit NHS tax for her residence permit. Not to mention I've paid near a £100k in national insurance over the years....but hey "Foreigners out!"

They already used all of your money to care for their native Yobs.

We will be happy to have you in Canada, Dauphin! If you're raising a family, look in Leslieville in the east end, High Park in the west end, or Oakville if you're willing to commute.

A Canadian. Not the one Dauphin married.

This is somewhat like saying it's reasonable to require big labels on every GMO food. The act of labeling is itself a penalty and attaches stigma in any population accustomed to a modern state.

Accurate labeling is a reasonable requirement. It's not free market exactly, but then again no one sane wants a truly free market.

I'm not terribly concerned as to whether or not this matches the definition of free-market (I understand the term has a very specific meaning which some people love to split hairs over). I am concerned over the daft jingoism of it. What if your company requires more workers of a certain type than the domestic labor pool can supply? That is especially likely to be true of high-skilled jobs.

Supplying info that ignorant people will wrongly malign businesses for does harm legitimate businesses. Hiding info harms consumers and workers.

Personally I'd like to know as much as possible about how things are produced and how businesses are run so as to be able to make informed decisions. Also I try to be straightforward with my own business dealings so that everyone knows what is what. So my vote is for more info.
