Twitter users have been reacting to the surprise announcement from Boris Johnson ruling himself out of the race to be the next Conservative leader and prime minister.
Very surprising, indeed. I would love to learn more about what brought that about. Boris got stabbed like a Stark at the red wedding (which isn't a bad thing).
Theresa May has launched her bid to become the next leader of the Tory party - with a dig at Boris Johnson and his ability to lead the country in Brexit negotiations.
Speaking before Mr Johnson announced he would not be running to be the next Prime Minister, the Home Secretary presented herself as a reliable candidate who had the negotiating experience to do the job "from day one".
And she contrasted that with Mr Johnson, who delt with the threat of London riots when he was mayor by purchasing a number of second-hand water cannon which were never used.
"Boris negotiated in Europe," she said. "I seem to remember last time he did a deal with the Germans, he came back with three nearly-new water cannon."
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
Bonkers Boris is now demanding the government set out a plan for Leave (wasn't that his or his campaign's job?) and getting his mates to call Gove a drunk Scot.
Classy.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
There was a decent article on BBC.com/news that had a timeline of the events leading up to this.

I hope her time at the Home Office doesn't leave an indelible control freak complex. Or perhaps that's why she got the job.
I just want there to be enough of momentum for rebellion in the Tory camp to make the government have to call an election once they've chosen a leader. I think to not call one would be wholly inappropriate given the massive changes that are occurring and how they should be handled. All the parties should set out their approach to Brexit management, and let the people choose a new government (or approve the new Tory set-up).
