Ok. Let me ask you this, why would you care about someone else's beliefs more than your own?

Entirely as long as you choose to do so. I did.

Love is the most likely one, and the one I mentioned. There are other factors to consider, such as how strongly the person believes in what they believe. Someone who doesn't believe strongly in anything would need less impetus to change their belief than someone who believes strongly. Also there is directionality. Someone who believes in general spirituality without believing in a specific deity doesn't have as far to go to accept a specific deity as someone who believes there is no deity.

Oh. Ok. I've never believed what someone else believed because of love. I've always believed differently than those that I love. I couldn't even imagine. Thanks though.

You should do it again, but don't screw it up this time.

There's a lot of possibilities. There's also the possibility of someone with weak beliefs not believing what his lover believes, even though he would like to share experiences with her. It's harder to imagine that things like that don't come down to choice. It's not always a matter of doing what our parents, peers or society does either, although it sometimes does.

I've seen it more as a statement you have some belief, else you would dismiss it out of hand/wouldn't have fear/the insurance policy. Some belief/doubt is maybe all you need?

Then there is the problem, what if you choose to believe in the wrong God - and the real one hates people who gamble with beliefs. Best not to pick a side.

Well the other point was that if there's a god and he/she is a beneficent god, they're more likely to see you favourably if you're just a person trying to do good things, than if you're some wimpy little coward doing what you're supposed to become you're scared.

I don't make stuff up in my head that people have done and evil things people have in their head. I don't make up stories about people and then tell people how good I am.

You don't need to, you have the bible for that.

Actually it tells me that I don't need to be great and that you aren't qualified to judge me.

Let's look at what you're saying....

                            1) You're too good to be judged by God.
                            2) People who do seek God's judgement are doing so out of fear and not humility.

This thread is yet further proof that religion is false.

Your religion, or at least your starting religion, is an accident of birth. Quite simple as that. End of story.

Yet another reason why religion is bollocks and God/Gods of your choice from literally thousands upon thousands in the history of civilisation, doesn't exist.

Obviously, it stands to reason why Kid is religious.

That's the kind of excuse not to believe in anything except the evilness of America that I would expect from you.
