    talking about cuisine/drinks etc

All this craze with omega-3, get omega-3, omega-3 will save your life, it's a miracle etc etc

I did some search and it turns out it's bascially... Μουρουνέλαιο. It's an oil of some kind. A fish oil.

Thing is, my parents generation were brought up on this thing, it was supposed to be very healthy but also tasted like sh!t, so they drunk it, but hated it.

So my generation comes along and we forget all about Μουρουνέλαιο. It goes completely out of alimentation.

Then some scientist comes along and says omega-3 is the best thing ever... and it somehow gets re-introduced in the everyday alimentation.

But it was basically fish-oil. The same our parents ate and we forgot. (of course now omega-3 comes in pills, that don't stink)

    Strange. and nice

Guess it is due to the health and long living of people in nations like Japan, where people eat fish en masse.
(which IMHO actually is a better way to get Omega-3 ... i.e. by eating fish instead of drinking fish oil or swallowing capsules )

you probably can't get the beneficial dosage only by eating fish (unless you swallow a swordfish everyday or something )

Oh. and of course in all things, moderation.

new studies begin to show that over consumption of omega-3 leads to prostate overgrowth. (hate to imagine what that means to the japenese)

I don't think rice has omega-3 so they'll probably be fine.

Swordfish and tuna are not the best fish to eat every day. They are predators and therefore accumulate heavy metals in their flesh.

                      I know.
Salmon is one of the best for omega 3 (also some dried fruits)
