  • (I don't mean you're idiots (except of course kid who's also a bigot), I mean that if they gave the money of the missiles to the village they were bombing, noone would be angry, so the koran wouldn't have been used as a unifying aspect of resistance).

If India had suffered what the middle east has, buddha would have looked like kaligoula

You have to force people to be Muslim. You either have to threaten them or brainwash them. Islam would never even exist at this point without it being enforced by the sword. This kind of situation is going to eventually destroy your civilization if you can't conquer the whole world and oppress all the people of the world, which, the very idea likely causes you to mess your pants.

The Jews have guns and they will shoot you in the face. The also have a pretty good thing going there in Israel. Islamic countries not so much.

Go to Palestine, and then go to Israel and tell me what you see.

No. Why should I shoot you in the face? Then who would I make fun of?

Jesus himself said, according to the bible:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Matthew 5:17

So, according to this, everything written in the old testament is still valid, even after Jesus coming.
Therefore there is no reason not to assume that god would use his own representatives (i.e. the popes) in order to sdtart wars against infidels.

And therefore there is also no reason to believe that disobeying/speaking against the representatives of god would be seen less lightly by god than it was the case in the old testament.
I really wish people would stop using that one verse while ignoring the overwhelming evidence of the NT against continuing validity of the Law. First, the verse itself: in context, Jesus says nothing will pass away until the Law is fulfilled. Which happens with Jesus's own death and resurrection; the veil of the temple is torn, the old covenant abolished. Even before then, Jesus Himself explicitly revised the rules at various instances, e.g. when He says His disciples are free to disregard the fasting rules as long as He is with them (IIRC this is found in all the synoptic Gospels). Jesus also denigrates the dietary restrictions ("it is not what goes into a man's mouth that defiles him, but what comes out"), and for that matter revises the rules on adultery in the same Sermon on the Mount where He gives your not-one-jot bit.

Then you get to Acts, where Peter receives a vision telling him to disregard dietary laws, and the Council of Jerusalem (Acts 15) where they agree that the vast bulk of the Law is useless and should be scrapped (bans on idolatry, blood consumption and sexual immorality are all they keep). And St. Paul never brings up the Law except to disparage it. And Hebrews. And the Epistle of James. Basically I am unaware of any part of the NT that speaks favorably of Christians adhering to the Law, except that one verse which people love to dredge up to ostensibly embarrass Christians.
