See, that is real easy to say but doing that will just mean the far right continues to grow. People are voting far right (Trump, FN, Sweden Democrats, etc...) because they are unhappy at the rates of immigration from 3rd world countries, they are unhappy with the endless welfare abuse and crime, the massive costs these things bring to taxpayers, etc... If the main stream parties would deal with those things responsibly without just calling anyone who brings up the topic a racist then there would not be right wing parties winning elections.

This really is a story of political elites just not being responsive to the will of the voters so they latch on to anyone who promises they will deal with the issues. Canada manages to solve these issues fairly successfully and still have an open society so it can be done.

That gets him back in the headlines but that isn't the actions of a serious contender for President.

As I said, the only reason he is getting traction is because the other candidates left room for him by avoiding certain issues. If the two parties would do things like immigration reform (making our laws look more like Canada's or Australia's) then what issue can he grandstand on? He would just fade out of the headlines.
51 percent of Trump supporters say their votes are set. You think Rubio has what it takes to turn this around? I Don're think so, but to say Trump is not a serious candidate is ridiculous and just that carp you're hearing on the media and other losing candidates who want people to believe it.

You realize to win an election he has to get the majority of the votes, right? How does a guy with 65% disapproval get a majority?

but these issues aren't real. crime has been falling across europe for a long time. the EU commission has estimated that the number of refugees will be 0.4% of the EU's population over two years - very easy for the world's largest economic area to deal with. i'm not even sure what you mean by 'welfare' abuse - refugees normally aren't allowed to work while their cases are processed, so they have to be provided with some support to meet their basic needs.

what is real, however, is the endless stream of bull**** and fearmongering that comes from the right-wing press directed at the disenfranchised and dislocated working classes, the less intelligent members of society and common or garden bigots.

How do you expext Rubio to win. You change people's minds. Trump isn't a bigot. All he has to do is convince people of that and he will have their vote. But seriously, what can Rubio do? Call to limit immigration? I don't see that doing what you think it will.

Right now Rubio is crying to the media and complaining that they don't pay attention to him. The thing is he has nothing to say that anyone wants to hear.

Basically, I expect Trump to eventually implode and that means Rubio is the most likely candidate to take over the top spot. I like Bernie but Hillary has the DNC stacking everything in her favor so it is unlikey he is going to win more than one or two states.
