No, and I don't think Trump is even likely to last until the convention, but in the odd circumstance he does, he'll just be an annoyance. He has never been able to cobble together a majority of support and too many republicans don't like him for him to do so.

It's not the establishment conspiring, it's that delegates pledged to candidates who drop out of the race will not vote for him.

Oh yes, your country's funny ideas of democracy.

Well, if that happens and it's seen as though he was robbed, he'll stand anyway.

Basically you have to hope that he and Carson somehow burn themselves out, but that so far doesn't look like happening and Trump has the clout to go it alone.

I'm not sure which scenario I actually prefer. Most of them are bad for the Republicans.

Either way the Republicans stand no chance of winning in 2016 so what does it matter?

Republicans have a chance in 2016 because they are called Republicans.

What's the problem? All Trump has to do is fire them.

                  Vote Democrat

It really is a total no-brainer, unless you're actually in the top few % of earners in the country. Even then you would have to be pretty heartless to vote to continue enriching yourself at the expense of the rest of the country.

Do the NICE thing next year. Vote Democrat. Yes, even if it's Clinton, it's most likely going to be better for you.

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson told graduates during a commencement address in the late ’90s that he believed the pyramids in Egypt were built by the biblical figure Joseph to store grain, and not, as most archeologists contend, as tombs for pharaohs.

                        Apparently Carson played Civ2.

Interesting story on Trump's appeal and the false choices granted to the US electorate. It's a couple months old, but a decent read. [Full disclosure: I'm a longtime fan of Matt Taibbi.]

                              Trump should be embarrassed.
