Religion is a protected class in the US.

edit: it looks like sexual orientation and gender identity are mentioned under "sex" but I guess it's possible that wouldn't be the case under a Republican president since the law doesn't explicitly mention those things and the Obama administration is interpreting discrimination based on those things to be discrimination based on sex stereotypes.
