  • Is the Pope a Catholic?

Seriously, I warmed to the guy when we was first appointed, but didn't really pay too much heed.

But lately, I love this guy!

“The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! ‘Father, the atheists?’ Even the atheists.”

“Do we realize that that system has imposed the mentality of profit at any price, with no concern for social exclusion or the destruction of nature?”

“Many powerful people don’t want peace because they live off war,” the Pope said.

“This is serious. Some powerful people make their living with the production of arms and sell them to one country for them to use against another country.”

He labeled the military-industrial-complex “the industry of death, the greed that harms us all, the desire to have more money.”

Recognizing that wars “lose lives, health and education,” he stressed that today’s wars are waged to make even more profit. “The devil enters through greed and this is why they don’t want peace,” Pope Francis said. “There can be no peace without justice.”

    It's all here:

10 Things Pope Francis Said that May Signal the Dark Side’s Demise

He has said a lot of things that have impressed me.

I still want to see action.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

The Pope's words are action. It is up the the Catholics to follow them.
“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
      "Capitalism ho!"

Hopefully, if he really undertakes any action that is about to transform the church,
it won´t be met with a sudden papal death, like that of John Paul I

Was he somehow more holy then than he is now as His Holiness?

Nah he was a fanatical anti-communist supporting a neo-fascist organisation but then later he said he regretted it.

I think when you pick a side, you should stick with it.

They did this in the Philippines too, put the homeless in prison for the Pope's visit.

A MailOnline investigation has found children being kept in horrendous conditions - some even being chained to posts - in detention centres across Manila, despite many committing no crime.
