I really do not understand the importance people place on this day.
Is it because this is the day where an event happened which caused Americans in mass to decide to sacrifice Freedom and Justice on the alter of Fear?

Twelve and a half years
In spring of 2003, a divorced couple masquerading as siblings made alternative rock history. An album that made The White Stripes an international sensation, and put "Seven Nation Army" and "The Hardest Button to Button" on every hard-rock radio station round the clock. An old-school, back-to-basics sound that managed to be surprisingly modern. The world was never the same after.
Their next album was a godawful mess of marimba and pedo-stache and generally gratuitous weirdness even by Jack White standards. Which is really saying something. And the album after that was their last. So the glory has dimmed. But it is not gone.
