On a related note Colorado now gets more money from taxing weed than it does taxing alcohol. Part of the reason is the state has a really low alcohol tax and a high weed tax but the fact remains we should just legalize it and tax it already.

Or you could screw it up horribly like in Illinois. Make it legal for Medical purposes. Make companies jump through hundreds of pages of regulations and costs to qualify as a provider. Then after teasing them and everyone else in the state for years about how much money there is to be made, not approve enough people for a medical related acceptance into the program for the providers, or the state, to make any real money off of it.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

It being Illinois, clearly the right people weren't incentivized (bribed) enough.

Actually that's the funny part. I'm sure plenty of bribes/incentives were given by the producers. They thought they would make a fortune with the licensee to sell. Now they're probably losing money hand over fist waiting for buyers to be approved.

I don't see Illinois getting its sh1t together anytime soon. But there is a massive budget gridlock happening. Maybe Gov. Rauner will finally figure out that there's a lot of revenue sitting there as low-hanging fruit and get something done.

              But I doubt it.

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
