Actually, i'm surprised that Apolyton focuses on Firaxis 4X titles only. There are a ton of games with similiar playerbase, like space or fantasy 4x strategies or grand strategy titles. Well, at least that's what i play a lot after i stopped playing SMAC and Civ 4.

For me, Civ: BE was underwhelming, but much of that is also getting used to the tech web and re-learning how to play a game you think you know how to play.

yeah, it's pretty arduous wrapping one's head around the tech web.

We've suggested this many times. Aeson appears to not favour the idea.

It's a fine idea. But judging from "Other Games" forum, there's just not much interest in building the content it would take to make it a worthwhile pursuit. Anyone who wants a specific game forum I'd be happy to make it.

Actually Civ Fanatics still has an active MP base. I play Civ4 MP there a lot now that active Apolyton Civ4 MP here has disappeared.

The Civ4 mods there are amazing.
