  • Living off the grid.

Why do some cities or counties make it illegal for residents to live off the grid?

Also, do any of you guys live off the grid, completely, or at least in some ways?

Do the Philippines count as off the grid?

What, and miss all the fun? I don't know what I would do without the black UN helicopters buzzing me all the time. :loonie:

I've considered the idea, but it's too much like work.

What cities and counties make this illegal? I've never heard of it before.

How can you live "off the grid" and yet still have internet access to come here?

I guess I'm not talking about living off the grid, then. I'm talking about being self-sufficient without relying on utilities for electricity, water, and gas - maybe there are people who probably live that way, but they maintain Internet service.

Pepper forums have tons of info on living off the grid. Just make sure you wash the paranoia and stupid off your hands when you leave.

Is that one of the more interesting fora you've been posting at?

I plan on moving poly onto servers made entirely of grass clippings to complete my off-grid lifestyle.

(seriously the water and power is out so often here that I qualify sometimes.)

Why don't you use big solar panels?
Does the philipinnes where you live, have sun?

I will look into it when the house is closer to completion. One of the difficulties here is finding the technical advice and quality components needed.
