Thomas Jefferson has an excellent quote about the foolishness of ideolizing past generations or the constitution.Originally posted by spambot View PostAmerican conservatives have an idealized conception of the politicians who were involved in creating the United States (called the "Founding Fathers" since women weren't allowed a role in such important work) and the American constitution is seen as embodying their unified ideology. Anything that doesn't conform to this ideology is un-American. A synonym for un-American is "unconstitutional" which has nothing to do with how the US constitution actually works in practice.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
