For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

It's nice to see honesty in a politician. I can believe not only that he would date that girl, but that he has more than once indicated his desire to do so.

Re: Bernie Sanders, I've only just learned about him from the explosion on FB, but he seems to be That Guy who appears in every presidential primary for the sole purpose of driving the conversation to extremes. Like he's going to say something in the debate about how there ought to be armed guards outside every abortion clinic to drive off protesters with their bayonets, and everybody in the room cheers, so Hillary gets flop-sweat and stammers something about how guards aren't enough and we need drones and attack dogs. Then she has fun defending that statement in the main election. Do we have reason to believe he's not That Guy?

        • His potential is that he can speak to poor whites who would traditionally be rock solid Republican as well as liberals who are used to their candidates promising them the earth and delivering very little. Whether or not he can tap into the mainstream remains to be seen. Probably not, but its intriguing to watch at least.

This just seems like wishful thinking.

Thus the 'probably not'. It's interesting watching the people who he is appealing to though, it's a surprisingly wide cross section of society once they hear him talk.

This isn't consistent with reality at all. Where are you getting this from?

                • I doubt blacks will be the overwhelmingly huge factor in the primaries that they were in 2008. I can say this though: to win the general, the Democratic nominee MUST bring the black voters out to the polls. If Sanders gets nominated and can't do that, it's a huge liability.

                      • I vacationed in Atlantic City last month. From what I saw the Trump empire is crumbling. Trump tower, which he's sold is an eyesore. His remaining properties in Atlantic City are in varying degrees of decay. Taj Mahal's gold paint is peeling, most of his customers consisted of elderly people playing slots in their PJ's, puffing on Pall Mall's underneath their oxygen cannula's, their Hoverounds parked near by. At noon they head to the buffet, then head back to the hotel they're staying at after lunch.
The money Trump is wasting on this campaign could be better spent shoring up his empire.

                        • The Donald doesn't care about that stuff. He cares about the Trump brand, about name recognition, about cash flow, and about making sure his inevitable 5th bankruptcy does not involve his personal fortune.

Atlantic City is a poor measuring stick for his empire's status.
