I am more thankful to the western powers in these regards.
As in contrast to the soviet forces, they accomplished the goal without so much looting and raping
Also, in contrast to russia, the western forces didn't try to falsely accuse the germans of atrocities which they hadn't done, just in order to cover up for their own atrocities (remember Katyn? )
(well, actually I have to admit that I am only half correct there, because the western powers knew very well that it were the russians ... but they didn't raise any objections (to the russian claim that the germans did it), because Stalin was an ally at this time ... therefore they were at least accomplices in crime)
