  • Yeah like Putin admitting he lied about Crimea...

Please stop frothing at the mouth with his spunk dribbling from your lips after you sucked him off so hard he went cross-eyed!

    • Annual exercise, we do this **** with everyone including once upon a time the Russians. Note that this is talking about Rapid Trident 2014, which was last year's exercise.

Here's an article about Rapid Trident 2012, which predates the ongoing war and the Maidan protests:
An opening ceremony was held at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center, July 16, 2012, officially marking the beginning of Exercise Rapid Trident 2012.

        • Wow, resorting to hiding behind Reg Collider the Inferior's coattails are we now, Oerdin?

          Which part of my quote:

Not in this manner it hasn't
          Don't you understand?

All the Rapid Tridents to date have involved personnel from multiple countries. Last year it was 1,300 service men from 15 countries, of which only 200 were US personnel.

This one is 1,200 service men from only 2 countries, with a +50% increase in US personnel. Not to mention the fact that the mission has changed to out-and-out military training by US instructors, instead of wargames exercises...

          Hence:

“This is the first Ukrainian-American programme at this level, and it shows the transition of bilateral military cooperation into a fundamentally new dimension,” Poroshenko said
So yeah, I brought the President of Ukraine to back me up in this argument and you brought the thick part of the entity known as Reg Collider...

Yes, the US has been provoking the Russians since 2006!

In addition to the U.S. and Ukraine, participants include: Austria, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Sweden.
No less than 9 former Soviet territories and Warsaw Pact nations, hosted in a former Soviet territory - and you wonder why Russia is concerned with NATO encroachment into their sphere of influence!?

              • See it's not so hard to admit that you're wrong.

Did they pull out? Link? Or is this a special exercise under Rapid Trident involving 50% extra US troops training only Ukrainian troops?

Clearly if they did, they must have pulled out to not risk the further escalation of an already tense situation - thus proving my multiple points.

                • Sending a few companies of instructors thousands of miles away from the Russian border to a country Russia claims not to be at war with is not provocative.

And as Oerdin pointed out, the troop levels aren't changing; the national composition is, that's all.

This thread has mostly covered two things: the petroleum industry, and the military. Oerdin may be wrong about a lot of stuff, but those are two things he knows way more about than you. He was in the army, and now he's a geologist.

                      • Clearly MOBIUS thinks that Russia has a right to be in control of their neighbors foreign policy. Clearly Ellestar feels that Russian troops are okay in Ukraine since they were not specifically included in the Minsk II agreement (although it did state that all foreign troops should be withdrawn from Ukrainian territory....which also means that our sending troops to train Ukraine is probably a violation as well...but since the Russians never left, one could assume that it is implied Russian acceptance of our right to be there as well. )

Both need to be more supportive of the fact that Ukraine is a sovereign nation. Russia can certainly influence its neighbors in many ways, but to have to introduce combat troops is nothing more than a sign of how weak Russia's influence really is. Russia having nuclear weapons is the equivalent of the neighborhood bully having a gun...nothing more.

My brother in law's service record states that he served in the Republic of Vietnam "on or before" whatever the date was that we acknowledged that we were even there at all.

As a civilian you may not understand the difference between troops and soldiers or volunteers, but there is. West also has soldiers in Ukraine (military instructors, mercenaries), but we don't say that West has troops there, do we?

Ukraine WAS a sovereign nation before you overthrown legal democratically elected government and put your own puppet regime there. Like half of the important ministers are not even Ukrainians anymore, and Security Service of Ukraine is under direct western control too. Western military instructors control the army. Are you out of your mind to call it "sovereign nation"? Look for a meaning of a word "sovereign" in a damn dictionary already.

Seriously, why you, the West, think that we, Russians, are as retarded as you are? You completely control Ukraine, and at the same time you tell Russia that we shouldn't "influence" it because it's a wrong thing to do. Look, man, it can work as your inside propaganda, i mean, looking at this post you certainly eat that **** you're being fed by western propaganda. But we're not a gullible fools like you, so it's useless to lie to us.

Looks like the American energy strategy is going to cost less for Europe than the Russian energy strategy fairly shortly.
                                Not true either.

There is no way to compete with russian energy resources. This is apparent with the preferential and very cordial treatement germany has with russia (north stream).

It is apparent with the new greek-turkish stream too. the US only managed to make a counter offer that will be evaluated, but apart from that nothing of substance.
