There was a fear that pandas would go extinct beucase they simply refused to bong.
Even with soft jazz music, candles and red wine there was no bonging.
Obviously this was overcome.
It is also the antithesis of seals (those sea animals?) that bonged even when their breeding ground was found to be in a military exercise ground with live weapons and explosions.
