CivBE doesn't get mentioned a lot in Beowulf, actually.

You have to get the seldom published unabridged version.

It begins in Grendel's mother's basement, where there's a CivBE LAN party. Hrothgar wins but is a complete ass throughout the game. So naturally Grendel goes to get revenge.

It was thought that the depiction of nerd rage would desensitize other monsters to violence, or even encourage it. Therefore it was cut out of published version.

My wife and i are having fun in multiplayer but the ai is too passive and some things seem OP like trade routes
