8 days to go until polling day. Latest polls suggest it's too close to call, and the momentum is with the pro-independence brigade. American voters can probably hear a loud ripping sound right now, and it's the sound of David Cameron filling his bespoke Savile Row underwear in terror at the prospect of going down in history as the man who broke Britain.

It's all remarkably good fun. I recommend it highly.

It will be very interesting what will happen to the name "Great Britain" and the Union Jack, if the scots really secede

The name "Great Britain" was created when Scots and British united 8ans somehow isn´t valid anymore, if half of the british island isn´t part of the country anymore
And the union jack was created after the treaty (between scotts ent brits) as the british georgs cross atop the scottish andrews cross, to symbolize the scottish / british union. Somehow unfitting to continue using it after a scotish secession.

The french have already begun to make fun of it saying with a smirk on their face that Scotland prefers to do things more in a french way than in an english way.
Seeing though as the difference in the polls is marginal and that the whole political establishment of the UK is head over heels to avert a yes vote, Scotland will probably remain in the UK.

Barosso also said that Scotland would have to go through EU joining procedures again (don't want to give those pesky catalans (or flemish ) any ideas.

The current ruler to the House of hannover, Prince Ernst August, is in germany well known for public peeing at the turkish Expo booth at the Expo 2000 in Hannover. He is also well known for using his umbrella in order to beat Paparazzi.

One has to admit that for Ernst August the position as ruler of Scotland would be perfect ... after all he would then wear a Kilt, which greatly facilitates public peeing
