.23? At that point, I believe the cop who pulled her over would have become drunk just inhaling the fumes coming off her body. Therefore, he was not competent to perform his duties, and the case must be thrown out for lack of evidence. QED.

Perry's problem is he got on tv and explicitly said he was going to block funding unless she resigns, I.E. he tied funding to an official doing a certain official act, which is text book abuse of authority by the statute. BTW Republicans have hated that the person in charge of investigating corruption in their bright red state was a democrat and they've been trying to defund the department for years mainly because Republicans control all of the power in the state and so they are the ones who get indicted for their shady deals.

If you're going to commit a criminal act don't go on national television and admit to it while you're doing it. Perry truly is dumb as a rock.

I'm reminded of when Boeing's former dillhole of a CEO got on Fox News and publicly stated, live on the air, that setting up a new plant in the south was in retribution for union bargaining attempts. That is, of course, strictly illegal but if the guy hadn't been dumb enough to admit to it on live national television he would have gotten away with it especially if he just made bland statements about the move being for competitive reasons. Most of these guys have giant egos though and they want to show off how powerful they are because that's what bullies like to do. In the end they would have done better to just keep their mouths shut instead of publicly admitting to a crime on TV.

          Heh:
Unless he was demonstrably trying to scrap the ethics unit for other than his stated reason, Perry indictment seems pretty sketchy. @ davidaxelrod

Even David Axelrod thinks the charges against Rick Perry are ridiculous. It's the same prosecutor who indicted Tom Delay on what ultimately turned out to be completely nothing.

I'm mainly shocked people aren't thrown out of public office as a routine matter when they are convicted of criminal activity.

I'm not saying he'll win. I wouldn't be unpleased if he did though. I'm merely trying to point out through your drug induced haze, that writing opponents off as cartoonish buffoons is a mistake.

David Axelrod isn't an expert on Texas state law. I will guess that the Texas state judges on the panel are though and their opinion is that Perry broke Texas state law.

                      Please continue your spin.

A grand jury is not a panel of judges, moron. It happens to be ridiculously easy to get an indictment from a grand jury, since the defendant isn't allowed to present witnesses or evidence.

Interestingly enough under Sava's test, Rand Paul is a ****ing socialist:

                          anti-Iraq War
                          anti-drone program
                          anti-extra-judicial "renditions"
                          anti-torture
                          anti-corporate bailout

Rand Paul, bringing Marxism to you!
I don't see how any of that is even vaguely socialist.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
