Apparently, there are a lot of people who live in her hometown who think like Ben. They want to block her entry.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

They're not desperate at all. They have a nice stable of 20-30 classic storylines that have served them well for many decades. Quick update to the available technologies (fax machines! the Internet! smart phones!), mix with topical politics, sprinkle in the latest cast members, and Bob's your uncle.
Matt Smith was terrible as the Doctor BTW. Very disappointing. Peter Capaldi is a marked improvement.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Yeah, but a simple semicolon makes the story either much more or much less interesting, depending on POV: "Doctor Who tested positive for Ebola; took subway, went bowling in Brooklyn."
(never actually seen a single episode of Doctor Who, but have FB friends who never shut up about it)
EDIT/XPost: wait, is that blur on the screen something from the show?

It'd be nice if the US would stop reacting to the Ebola outbreak as if they were in a The Onion article.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.
