Church of England got in bother for investing in a fund that had sub holding in a pay day lender. News was revealed shortly after it had railed against the immorality of the predatory practice.

A defence against it is to invest in 'ethical funds'.

In addition to TMM's quite proper response, you do realize that churches get tax exemption by the nature of being a non-profit organization and that ALL non-profit organizations (such as the ACLU or Human Rights Campaign) are exempt from taxes on that basis as well, right?

What DD is refusing to acknowledge is that there are numerous other valid reasons birth control pills can be used to treat. Hobby Lobby is blanket refusing to provide said medical treatment for any reason what so ever so, no, it isn't just about birth control. DD knows this though and that's why he keeps glossing over the issue and pretending not to understand.

Someone here is being a **** but is not me. THEY picked those mutual funds, no one forced them, and has been repeatedly pointed out there are a TON of financial specialists out there whose total business is helping people pick investment plans while maintaining divestment requirements due to moral or religious reasons. Hobby Lobby, and the other lying religious hypocrites, could opt to do this but they don't because they, in actuality, just don't really give a **** about the matter and they're just using religion as their smoke screen. This was amply proven as they DID cover those very forms of contraception in the past but suddenly changed their minds simply because they hate that black guy in charge.

I guess it's a good thing that Hobby Lobby isn't refusing to cover birth control pills.
